Personally I am using something a little unconventional - the Sivga Phoenix headphones with a wireless mod-mic, this setup has incredible body to the sound yet excellent positional accuracy. I tend to mainly play FPS games, my most played being Battlefield 4 and V
I’m using the PlayStation 5 Pulse 3D headset currently as it was recommended to me by a friend. I’ve not really used gaming headsets before but tend to play quite late when my little boy is in bed so it’s come in very handy. The Pulse has some great audio and is good for directional sound when playing things like cod as you can tell what direction another player is coming from. It’s great at blocking out sound from around you, which really puts you into the game. Currently playing resident evil village with it, which is great… now the zombies really feel like they’re in the room with me…
My daily driver is an old SteelSeries Siberia headset. It's a bit battered now, but still works OK. I'm currently in the market for a new headset, so currently in research mode checking what gaming headset is best for under £100.
Currently using the HyperX Cloud 9s, for exactly the reasons behind your design you showed me at Insomnia 70! Balanced Audio, decently priced and reasonable quality in materials. Sadly let down slightly by it's leather materials as they get oily and sweaty really easily.
